Oh, this child. She has my heart in her hand. My total amazement. My awe. Last night, straight out of the bathtub:
“Mommy, why do the days keep going and going and going and never stop?”
“Well, babe, that’s just how Jesus made things to be. But you know what? When the days do stop, do you know where we will go?”
(Quiet)
“Where is Jesus?”
“Heaven”
“That’s right, sweetie.”
“But, Mommy; I don’t want to die.”
“Awwww, babe, hopefully you will be here on Earth for a long, long time, but why do you say that?”
“Because I want to keep playing and stay here.”
“I know, but you know what? You will have sooooooo much fun with Jesus when you see Him. He will have absolutely everything you need!”
“Can I say “hi” to Jesus, and hug him?”
“Of course!”
“Ohhhh, yay! I want to go to heaven one day. I want to talk to Jesus!”
