Can You Still See Him?

Can you feel Him?

Can you still feel Him?

Can you?

Holding your weary frame as you stumble through your day. Wiping your steamy tears, as they gently roll down your face. Laying next to you as your exhausted body finally gives in.

Can you hear Him?

Can you still hear Him?

Can you?

Whispering sweet nothings of “It’s going to be okay” into your distracted ears. Delicately nudging your shattered heart with His unconditional promise to carry you through. Carefully reminding you of your priceless, intricate worth, as He pieces you back together.

Can you see Him?

Can you still see Him?

Can you?

In the hopeful eyes of His tiniest souls, as they eagerly bounce toward the future; placed oh so carefully into their hands. In the tried-and-true hands of the wisest souls on Earth, who house an endless reel of stories and examples of His unconditional love. In the work of doctors, teachers, first responders; our unsung, everyday heroes.

Can you taste Him?

Can you still taste Him?

Tongue out and ready for His fresh, pure winter snow. Lips cleansed by the joyful saltwater splatters from His oceans boundless waves. Stomach filled by the daily bread we choose to break in His name.

Can you see Him?

Can you still see Him?

Can you?

Have you seen Him?

Have you been paying attention?

To the magnificently sobering reminder that He could be anyone you come face-to-face with, any moment now. The reminder to treat others as He treats you. From the beggar on the corner; to the waitress serving your late-night meal; to the stranger on your bus; to the surgeon saving your life; to the young man holding the door as you walk past.

Have you watched for the scars, left behind from His time on the cross, as you shake your neighbor's hand? The majestic glow of the north star, carefully following His lead...tiny pieces of hay still warming His newborn body.

Can you still feel Him?

Hear Him?

See Him?

Taste Him?

Can you?

Or have the distractions of the world rendered His promise too far gone...
