There’s never an end to the amount of pep
talks a mama gives to her children.
Never an end to her questioning
of whether she said enough...
...prepared enough.
...shared enough.
...modeled enough.
...taught enough.
...was involved enough.
There’s never an end to how many times
she replays everything in her mind.
Over. And over.
And over again.
And then one more time.
There's never an end to how many times
she encourages her babies--tiny and grown.
Showing up.
Staying late.
Cheering on.
Checking in.
Worrying.
Overthinking.
Working overtime to make sure her
children's dreams come true.
Above all else, there's never an end to
how many times she asks her Heavenly
Father to renew her strength for
the day that lies ahead...
...hitting her knees.
...crying out.
...hoping that He can hear the weary
cries of her heart when her lips
cannot find the words to pray.
All in the name of those she loves the most.
There’s never an end to the amount of pep talks a mama gives to her children.
Because a mama just can’t help cheering her babies on.
But above all else—a mama never, ever stops praying. For she knows, her prayers will forever follow her children, wherever she cannot be, and those prayers will always-and-forever be louder than her cheers.
